Can one imagine that 2000 years ago, Joseph and pregnant Mary had to travel on a donkey from Nazareth to Bethlehem a distance of 160 km / 6 days in order to comply with the census registration order issued by the Roman emperor. They surely had to brave very harsh terrain, extreme weather, thieves, hunger, and thirst to reach Bethlehem and then to find no place to rest except a manger where baby Jesus was born.
